Liverpool's impressive unbeaten streak of 26 matches in the Premier League comes to an end with defeat against Fulham.

Top team Liverpool's streak of 26 matches without losing in the Premier League came to an end when they lost their second match of the season after giving up the lead against Fulham, who fought back and secured a close 3-2 win at Craven Cottage.

Arne Slot's team couldn't take advantage of Arsenal dropping points at Goodison Park the day before, in a match where Alexis Mac Allister scored an impressive goal to put Liverpool in the lead.

However, some uncharacteristic defending from the away team, following Ryan Sessegnon's equalizer, allowed Alex Iwobi to put Fulham in front before Rodrigo Muniz added a third goal.

Luis Diaz came off the bench and scored one goal back, but it wasn't sufficient for Liverpool, missing the opportunity to increase their lead over closest rivals Arsenal by 11 points, with seven games left to play.

Despite Ibrahima Konate losing the ball in his own half and the team almost conceding a goal, Liverpool displayed their attacking prowess as they surprised the hosts with a brilliant goal from Mac Allister in the 14th minute.

The goal originated from towering defensive-midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, who used his height advantage to win the ball, allowing Mac Allister to advance and score with a powerful strike into the top left corner past Bernd Leno.

However, Liverpool's lead was short-lived as Fulham's Sessegnon, a product of their academy, equalized in the 23rd minute.

After Sander Berge evaded Liverpool's press and played the ball wide, a cross into the box was cleared by Konate, falling to Sessegnon who volleyed the ball into the net.

The away team had been showing signs of slowing down recently, with sloppy passes under Fulham's high pressure leading to the hosts' second goal.

This time, Iwobi received the ball in an attacking position after an interception, and his shot deflected off Andy Robertson, deceiving Caoimhin Kelleher and putting Fulham in the lead.

Usually resilient, Liverpool couldn't withstand Fulham's pressure on this occasion.

Just five minutes after Iwobi's goal in the 37th minute, Liverpool's captain Virgil van Dijk made a rare error, allowing Muniz to score with a clever finish inside the box.

In the second half, Diaz was brought on by Slot to try and salvage something from the game, and he managed to score a goal with 18 minutes remaining.

However, missed chances from Salah and Jones hitting the crossbar were the closest Liverpool came to scoring on a day where they fell short.
