Week 38 of Scottish Premiership: Forecasting the Matches

- Celtic have netted five goals in four of their most recent six matches in all competitions
- A victory for Dundee United can help them move above Aberdeen and claim the fourth spot
- Ross County and Dundee are aiming to steer clear of the relegation play-off

It is the final weekend of the Scottish Premiership season with the six matches scheduled across Saturday and Sunday.

The Championship group will wrap up on Saturday, while the Relegation group will play their last games on Sunday afternoon.

Celtic vs St Mirren (Saturday, 12:30pm)

Current champions Celtic have not lost in five league games as they prepare to host St Mirren, who are 42 points adrift of them.

Brendan Rodgers' team have emerged victorious in their last eight encounters with St Mirren, including a 5-2 away triumph in March.

St Mirren have failed to score in two of their three meetings with Celtic this season. They head into this match unbeaten in their last five, although four of those games were played at home.

Score prediction: Celtic 5-0 St Mirren

Dundee United vs Aberdeen (Saturday, 12:30pm)

These two sides are competing for a chance to qualify for the Europa League by finishing fourth, with Aberdeen currently holding a three-point lead.

With only a two-goal difference separating them, a victory for Dundee United would be enough to secure fourth place.

Both teams have suffered defeats in their last three matches and have struggled to score goals, so a low-scoring game at Tannadice would not be unexpected.

Score prediction: Dundee United 1-1 Aberdeen

Hibernian vs Rangers (Saturday, 12:30pm)

Hibs, who were in the relegation section last season, have secured a third-place finish under manager David Gray, which marks a significant improvement.

A key factor in their resurgence has been their form at home, as they remain undefeated in 12 matches at Easter Road, including a 2-1 victory over Celtic in February.

It has been a disappointing season for Rangers, who will finish far behind Celtic, but they enter the final match having won their last two games against Aberdeen and Dundee United.

Score prediction: Hibernian 1-2 Rangers

Barry Ferguson's team Rangers will end their season by playing against Hibernian.

Kilmarnock vs Hearts (Sunday, 3pm)

This will be the fourth encounter between these teams this season, with Kilmarnock clinching two wins and Hearts securing one.

In their previous meeting at Rugby Park, Kilmarnock won 1-0, despite being reduced to 10 men after just six minutes.

The hosts have triumphed in their last three home games, scoring a total of seven goals in the process.

Score prediction: Kilmarnock 2-1 Hearts

Ross County vs Motherwell (Sunday, 3pm)

With three wins in their last four matches, Motherwell have distanced themselves from the bottom two teams and are now set to face Ross County, who are currently in the relegation play-off position.

Don Cowie's team must secure a win to have any hope of avoiding the play-off, as they sit two points behind Dundee.

County have not suffered a defeat in their three previous clashes with Motherwell this season (two wins and a draw), which provides them with some encouragement despite their winless run since March 1st.

Score prediction: Ross County 1-0 Motherwell

St Johnstone vs Dundee (Sunday, 3pm)

Dundee's aim is to secure their place in the Premiership for next season with a win against already-relegated St Johnstone, although a draw may also be enough for them to avoid relegation.

The hosts have lost five of their last six matches, with their only victory in that period coming against Ross County.

Dundee have already triumphed at McDiarmid Park this season with a 3-1 win back in January, so it would not be surprising to see them collect another three points on Sunday.

Score prediction: St Johnstone 1-2 Dundee
