Brilliant Carlos Baleba goal propels Brighton to victory over Wolves in Carabao Cup

Carlos Baleba scored a fantastic goal from 30 yards out to help Brighton secure a close 3-2 victory over Wolves in the Carabao Cup third round.

Baleba, from Cameroon, netted his first goal for Brighton in the 19th minute, followed by another impressive goal from Simon Adingra to double the lead at the Amex Stadium.

Wolves showed great improvement after Goncalo Guedes' goal in the 44th minute, but missed chances cost them as Ferdi Kadioglu sealed the win for Albion with a late goal.

Tommy Doyle's late goal gave hope to Wolves for a penalty shootout, but Brighton managed to hold on to their unbeaten record under head coach Fabian Hurzeler.

Brighton made several changes from their previous game, while Wolves only kept Joao Gomes in the starting lineup after their recent defeat to Newcastle.

Baleba, among the few players who kept their spot, scored a brilliant goal in the 14th minute after dispossessing Gomes and finding the bottom corner from outside the box.

Despite another goal being disallowed, Brighton maintained their lead before Wolves' Guedes pulled one back just before half-time.

Wolves pushed for an equalizer in the second half, with Brighton goalkeeper Jason Steele making crucial saves to deny them.

Brighton secured their win with Kadioglu's goal five minutes before the final whistle, before Doyle added a late goal for Wolves.
