Weekend accumulator picks: Five top teams to support in various European leagues

There is high pressure in France and Germany this weekend as both Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga are heading towards their final matches of the season on Saturday. Liam Flin has put together a five-team accumulator for this weekend's matches across Europe.

Saturday, 2.30pm

RB Leipzig are in a close competition with Mainz for sixth place in the Bundesliga and a spot in next season's Conference League. Leipzig can take encouragement from Mainz having to face Bayer Leverkusen in their final game of the season.

If Mainz stumble, Leipzig will look to take advantage in their match against Stuttgart, who might be distracted by the upcoming DFB Pokal final next week.

Stuttgart have only managed to win two out of their last five matches, one being against a 10-man Augsburg side early in the game.

With key midfielder Angelo Stiller absent, Leipzig seem poised for a victory.

Saturday, 2.30pm

Augsburg have had a shaky end to the Bundesliga season, but they should be driven to finish with a win against Union Berlin in front of their home crowd.

Union Berlin has not won any of their last five matches and were soundly beaten 3-0 at home by Heidenheim in their previous game.

Augsburg hold a six-point advantage over Union Berlin and seem like a good choice to secure a win on Saturday.

Saturday, 8pm

St-Etienne will be battling to retain their Ligue 1 status on the final day of the season and have the opportunity to potentially move above Le Havre into the relegation play-off position.

Facing a tough away match against Strasbourg, Le Havre might struggle, making it crucial for St-Etienne to claim a victory over mid-table Toulouse, who are likely already in holiday mode.

St-Etienne have only won eight league games this season, but victory in two of their last four matches against Reims and Lyon could provide them with a crucial win.

Liam Rosenior has guided Strasbourg to an unexpected push for a spot in the Champions League.
Liam Rosenior has guided Strasbourg to an unexpected push for a spot in the Champions League.

Strasbourg boasts one of the best home records in Ligue 1, with only Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco holding superior records. They average 2.19 points per game at the Stade de la Meinau.

Having secured wins in their last two home games against St-Etienne and PSG, Strasbourg, aiming for fourth place and a spot in the Champions League qualifiers, should have strong motivation.

They are rightfully favored to defeat Le Havre, who have suffered losses in 20 Ligue 1 games this season.

Sunday, 6pm

Sevilla have faced challenges throughout the LaLiga season, but now that their survival is assured, their performance could dip in the match against Real Madrid.

The Andalusian team narrowly beat Las Palmas in their previous game, which was their only win in the last nine matches.

Real Madrid lost the league title to Barcelona but will be keen to end the season strongly, having won five of their last six La Liga matches.
