Gabriel's goal secures win for under-strength Arsenal in North London derby against Tottenham

Gabriel scored in the second half helping Arsenal to win 1-0 against Tottenham and keep the competition tight with Manchester City in the Premier League title race.

Arsenal faced a crucial match against City next week, and the victory against Tottenham was essential for their title hopes after a draw against Brighton in their previous game.

Despite missing key players Odegaard and Rice, Arsenal managed to secure the win thanks to Gabriel's goal, showcasing their championship ambitions and leaving Spurs with only one win this season.

Odegaard was sidelined due to an ankle injury, and Rice was suspended after a red card in the previous match. Jorginho filled in for Rice, while Trossard took on Odegaard's playmaking role in the team.

On the other hand, Tottenham welcomed back Van de Ven from injury, and Solanke led the attacking line after recovering from an ankle issue.

Spurs had their chances early on, with Son creating an opportunity for Kulusevski, resulting in a fine save from Raya. However, Arsenal also threatened, with Kulusevski testing the Spurs defense and goalkeeper.

After a fiercely contested first half with several bookings, Arsenal grew into the game. They had opportunities through Havertz and Martinelli, but it was Gabriel who eventually broke the deadlock with a header from a corner.

Despite Spurs' efforts to find an equalizer, Gabriel's goal seemed to deflate the home side, and Arsenal managed to hold onto their lead with some solid defending.

In the closing stages, Spurs pushed for a penalty which was waved away, and Arsenal almost doubled their lead through Saka. However, it was Arsenal who celebrated their third consecutive derby win at Tottenham since 1988.
