England Getting Ready for European Women’s Championship with Dominant Victory Over Jamaica

England concluded their final match before the start of the European Women’s Championship with a dominant 7-0 win against Jamaica at the King Power Stadium.

The Lionesses aimed to build momentum ahead of their Euros opener against France next Saturday and were already in control by half-time.

Ella Toone scored twice with long-range strikes, accompanied by Lucy Bronze's header, to secure a three-goal lead at the interval. The match could have shifted if Kayla McKenna's goal for Jamaica had not been disallowed by VAR for offside when the score was 1-0.

The introduction of Lauren James in the second half, after recovering from a hamstring injury in April, was warmly welcomed by the England supporters.

England continued to extend their lead with goals from Georgia Stanway, Alessia Russo, Aggie Beever-Jones, and Beth Mead, delivering a strong performance before their title defense in the European competition.

Starting strongly, the home team created early chances through Jess Carter and Stanway from distance.

The breakthrough eventually came for England when Toone found space to curl a shot past goalkeeper Liya Brooks in the 10th minute.

Despite England's dominance, Jamaica appeared to equalize unexpectedly, but VAR intervened and disallowed the goal due to an offside position by Kalyssa van Zanten blocking the goalkeeper's sight.

England further capitalized on their advantage, extending their lead with a goal from Bronze after a well-timed cross from Carter.

The Lionesses continued to press forward with opportunities from Lauren Hemp hitting the post and Russo striking the crossbar before Toone added her second goal just before half-time.

The fourth goal for England arrived early in the second half, with Stanway scoring a powerful shot into the top corner.

The reigning European champions demonstrated their strength as James provided an assist for Russo to head home a fifth goal.

England sealed a comfortable victory in Leicester as Beever-Jones and Mead added two more goals late in the match.
