The scoring started with Georgia Stanway converting a penalty in the 13th minute. Ella Toone, making her second start in Switzerland, doubled the lead in the 21st minute and provided two assists. Lauren Hemp extended the lead to three goals within the first half-hour. Russo found the back of the net in the 44th minute, followed by Beth Mead scoring the fifth goal for England. Hannah Cain scored Wales' second-ever goal in a major tournament.
Substitute Aggie Beever-Jones scored her first goal of the tournament for England. They will now face Sweden in Zurich after finishing second to France in Group D.
England's head coach Sarina Wiegman kept the same starting line-up, while Rhian Wilkinson made three changes for Wales.
Olivia Clark was in goal, Rhiannon Roberts returned to defence, and Carrie Jones, known for her crucial goal against the Republic of Ireland, received her first start in the tournament.
Although initially awarded a free-kick, England was given a penalty after VAR review confirmed a foul inside the box on Stanway by Jones. Clark dived the right way but couldn't prevent the goal.
After Jess Fishlock's historic goal for Wales, Toone scored the second goal following a fortunate interception by Russo, with Manchester United's Hemp securing the third goal at the half-hour mark.
Russo then scored, Toone provided the assist, and Mead skillfully finished to make it four. Wales had chances to score through Rowe and Fishlock.
Substitutions Mead and Park increased England's lead to five. Beever-Jones and Mead combined for the sixth goal. Fishlock's assist led to Cain's stylish goal, with Beever-Jones adding the final goal for England.
Clark's save denied Walsh a late goal as Wales fought till the end.
