Airdrieonians ensured they will remain in the Scottish Championship for another season by defeating Cove Rangers 2-1 overall in their play-off final following a goalless draw at Excelsior Stadium.
The match began with Lewis McGrattan testing Cove goalkeeper Nicholas Suman with a well-struck shot, while Cove's Cade Melrose made a crucial save to deny Adam Emslie's attempt.
McGrattan missed another chance with a wayward shot, and Airdrie's attack was stopped by Arron Darge's excellent block to deny Aidan Wilson.
In the second half, Melrose made a key save to deny Ryan Harrington, and Wilson had another unsuccessful attempt, shooting wide.
Melrose then managed to stop a late effort from Myles Gaffney, ending Cove's aspirations of promotion to the higher league.
