Newcastle clinches last-minute win over Wolves with Harvey Barnes' late goal

Harvey Barnes scored a fantastic goal that sealed Newcastle's dramatic late comeback to secure a 2-1 win against Wolves, marking their first Premier League victory at Molineux since 2011.

Trailing to Mario Lemina's first-half goal, Newcastle appeared to be out of ideas even after Eddie Howe made three substitutions at halftime that seemed to have little impact on their lackluster performance.

An element of luck came into play when Fabian Schar, back from suspension, equalized with a deflected 30-yard strike off Craig Dawson's head. However, it was Barnes' individual brilliance, not luck, that secured the winning goal.

Barnes combined with fellow substitute Joe Willock, cutting inside before curling a superb shot into the top corner past Wolves' goalkeeper Johnston, who conceded for the second time in three minutes.

Newcastle's unbeaten start to the season continued with the victory, while Wolves' poor form extended to just one league win in their last 14 matches.

Despite the outcome, Wolves will feel aggrieved as they were the better team for most of the game, led by captain Lemina who impressed with his forward play.

Lemina's early goal put Wolves ahead and caused trouble for Newcastle, who initially showed promise before fading. Striker Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon had their moments, but Wolves began to assert themselves as the game progressed.

Schar's equalizer spurred Newcastle on, with Barnes eventually netting the winning goal. Wolves had chances to level the score but were denied by Newcastle's defense and goalkeeper Nick Pope, who made crucial saves.
