Morecambe claimed consecutive victories for the first time this season with a 2-0 triumph over Cheltenham, boosting their chances of remaining in the Football League.
The Shrimps are still second from the bottom but narrowed the gap on Tranmere, as strikes from Ged Garner and the in-form Lee Angol made the difference.
Garner broke the deadlock for the home team in the 66th minute, shortly after coming on as a substitute. Exploiting a defensive error from Cheltenham, he found the net with a right-footed shot from eight yards out past Joe Day.
Shortly after, Derek Adams' team extended their lead as Angol capitalized on an error from Ibrahim Bakare, sprinting towards goal and calmly slotting the ball past Day.
Matty Taylor came close to scoring for the Robins with a long-range effort that goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne managed to tip over the crossbar in one of the rare attacking moments from the visitors in the second half.
