Promotion secured as East Kilbride defeat Bonnyrigg Rose to climb to League Two

East Kilbride secured their spot in the Scottish League Two for the first time, relegating Bonnyrigg Rose after a goalless draw at New Dundas Park resulted in a 3-1 aggregate victory for the visitors.

Bonnyrigg's goalkeeper Paddy Martin made a crucial save to deny a shot by Joao Balde in the 24th minute, while Aaron Arnott missed a good opportunity for the hosts by firing over the bar.

Despite Kerr Young having two clear chances for Bonnyrigg in the second half, with one header hitting the crossbar and the other saved by Chris Truesdale, they were unable to find the back of the net.

John Robertson of East Kilbride had a late missed chance, but Mick Kennedy's side emerged victorious, earning promotion to League Two while sending Bonnyrigg, managed by Jonny Stewart, down to the lower division.

East Kilbride will now compete in the SPFL for the first time in their history, while Bonnyrigg Rose exit the league after a spell of three seasons.
