Crystal Palace vs Wolves predictions: Wolves can spoil Palace homecoming

Crystal Palace lifted their first piece of major silverware on Saturday, but they are quickly back in action as they host Wolves on Tuesday.

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira has earned plenty of plaudits for toasting victories with Wolves fans. This time around, his side are well-placed to take advantage of a Palace side that have raised a glass or two of their own this weekend.

Team news

Crystal Palace are likely to make huge changes from the side that featured at Wembley on Saturday, given the tight turnaround between games.

Jorgen Strand Larsen was limited to just 31 minutes against Brighton after missing the loss to Manchester City, but he is expected to return to the starting lineup which should force a reshuffle for the visitors, with Matheus Cunha moving back into a number 10 role.

Wolves have won six of their previous eight Premier League games.

Only Aston Villa and Newcastle have topped Wolves’ points tally across the last eight games.

Palace have dropped points in three of their last four league matches following an FA Cup tie.

The Eagles have won just five home matches in 18 games this term, and of those five wins, three have come against the league’s bottom four sides.

Palace have lost six of 13 home clashes with sides placed 16th or higher.

Prediction

Crystal Palace head into Tuesday’s game unbeaten in four Premier League contests, but it is still hard to side with them.

The Eagles are fresh from a momentous Wembley win, but they have already struggled to switch back to league action after big FA Cup results this term.

Palace lost 2-1 at home to Everton days after their FA Cup fourth-round win at Doncaster, claimed a narrow 1-0 win over Ipswich a week after their fifth-round clash, while they drew 1-1 at Southampton days after a 3-0 quarter-final victory at Fulham.

Palace had a huge break following their semi-final win over Aston Villa, but still dropped points at home to Forest in their next match.

Wolves are more than capable of capitalising on any drop in intensity from the hosts. The visitors have won six of their last eight games, with only Newcastle and Aston Villa topping their points tally across that stretch.

Wolves have also won six of their nine visits to sides in the bottom half, while they have won four of their last five league starts on the road.

Palace have a poor home record this term, with just five wins from 18 at Selhurst Park, three of which have come against the bottom four.
